LAPAROSCOPY SURGERY

Laparoscopic surgery also called minimally invasive surgery (MIS), or keyhole surgery, is a modern surgical technique in which operations are performed through small incisions on the body.

There are a number of advantages to the patient with laparoscopic surgery versus the traditional open procedure. Pain and wound infections are reduced due to smaller incisions and recovery times are shorter. The key element in laparoscopic surgery is the use of a laparoscope and camera which helps in visualizing the inside view on the monitor screen. Surgery is done with insufflations of the abdominal cavity with CO2 under general anesthesia and the surgeon operates with long surgical instruments which passes in the abdominal cavity through small holes. The end result is completing the same surgery with a magnified and better view of internal organs with small holes.

Commonly performed laparoscopic surgical procedures are

  • Diagnostic Laparoscopy
  • Laparoscopic Appendectomy / Cholecystectomy/li>
  • Laparoscopic CBD exploration
  • All types of hernia repair (Inguinal, Umbilical & Incisional and others)
  • Laparoscopic surgeries of the small and large intestine
  • Laparoscopic Splenectomy (spleen removal).
  • Laparoscopic Gastro-jejunostomy
  • Laparoscopic Cysto-gastrostomy
  • Laparoscopic Rectopexy
  • Laparoscopic upper GI Surgery (Fundoplication / Hellers Cardiomyotomy).

ADVANCED LAPAROSCOPIC SURGERY

This includes complex surgical procedures which are routinely operated by open surgery. With technical expertise, more & more of experience and advancements in surgical instrumentation, it is possible to do these procedures laparoscopically. With a vast experience of about ten thousand laparoscopic surgical procedures over more than 10 years, Dr. Mayank Jain routenly performsAdvanced Laparoscopic surgery for complex hernias, and most of the benign and malignant diseases of esophagus, stomach, spleen, liver, common bile duct, adrenal, pancreas, colon and rectum.

SILS (SINGLE INCISION LAPAROSCOPIC SURGERY)

For cosmetically conscious patients, who do not want even the smallest scar on their belly, laparoscopic surgery can be done in the form of a single incision in the belly button. Within a few weeks of surgery, scar gets hidden within the belly button and the whole belly looks scar-less. So, for all those looking for the scar-less abdomen, this is the right place for you to contact.
